After putting in 100-hour weeks as a reporter and editor in North Carolina’s second-fastest growing city, Mike joined the Michigan Press Association in 1991. He was named MPA Executive Director in 1998 and now oversees the three corporations housed at “MPA World Headquarters.” He thinks newspapers and the music business have a lot in common: People still buy music - they just may not buy albums at record stores. People still want the content community newspapers offer; it’s just not ONLY delivered as "news on paper." Publishers are launching innovative offerings to make it easier to reach targeted audiences among the 6.9 million adults who read a newspaper each week. Roselie Lucas
Growth & Operations Manager
Roselie streamlines office operations and offers business solutions to facilitate growth within the association and its media placement services. She remains client focused and helps to bring in new business with ultimately results in growth for MPA members as well. She has worked in member services from 1988 to 1993 and returned in 2001 as accounting coordinator. In 2007 she joined the media placement team and was promoted to manager in 2010. Lisa McGraw
Public Affairs Manager
Lisa tracks government issues important to member newspapers and works with various MPA committees. In addition, she administers membership recruitment and relations. She also helps coordinate events like the MPA Annual Convention, ADCON and other events that provide members training and networking opportunities. She has been with MPA since 2003. Suzanne Gougherty
Campaign Manager
With an extensive and satisfying career as a media executive with a diverse media background, Suzanne has gladly taken on the responsibilities as the campaign manager for MPA. Her initiative is to reposition the newspaper sales story by using approaches that make newspapers and all their products come alive. Her charge is to create compelling offers, introduce new services and most importantly, develop new marketing opportunities for clients and advertising agencies. A few of the target categories are: education, financial services, politics, public affairs, government agencies and casino tourism. Colleen has been with MPA since 1986 when she started out as the meetings and office manager. Meghan maintains member and client databases, continuously collecting and updating information.
