Michigan Press Association members now have access to an array of state-of-the-art digital products through OwnLocal a venture-backed startup that has helped newspapers across the country dramatically increase their online revenue. OwnLocal products include online directories, print-to-web ad conversions, website creation, social media, daily deal coupons and ad agency services. If you would like to speak to someone regarding OwnLocal at MPA, please speak to Jim Stevenson. To learn more about the OwnLocal program:
Newspaper publishers understand that online advertising, Internet search and digital products are viable and necessary elements in every business’ advertising plan. In order to offer quality digital solutions, Michigan Press Association has developed an agreement with OwnLocal, a respected digital solutions company based in Austin, Texas.
OwnLocal’s owners are former newspaper professionals that understand the value of print and the audience local newspapers deliver in both print and online. OwnLocal offers digital products including online search directories, digitizing display ads for search optimization, website hosting and more. This unique agreement provides MPA members with an opportunity to grow their digital revenue, while at the same time continuing to position their local newspaper sales reps as the preferred advertising professionals in the market.

In addition to online digital solutions, MPA is working on a new texting/mobile vendor that will further enhance the ability of MPA member sales staffs to offer an affordable mobile service to local businesses.
These new initiatives are part of MPA’s ongoing efforts to provide members with knowledgeable and proven technology partners. For more information, please contact Jim Stevenson at jim@michiganpress.org, Roselie Lucas at roselie@michiganpress.org or Mike MacLaren at mike@michiganpress.org.
