Inside MPA's Web-based New Hires and Ad Sales Training

Any publisher or ad manager who has too much turnover and no time to properly train new advertising salesperson needs to jump on this. After requests from members needing relief from the revenue losses associated with ad salesperson turnover, our Web-based course for newspaper advertising representatives is now available. While it's designed for new hires, other newspapers that have seen it have already expressed interest putting their veterans through it too.

Building a digital newsroom

Building a digital newsroom is a collaborative project between MPA and Michigan State University School of Journalism Digital Journalism instructor Bonnie Bucqueroux. Following this blog, viewing the video and enhancing your technology skills is free for MPA members!

The project will be composed of several parts. Part one explains how to incorporate video into your Web site while also considering your budget.

Reporting Short Course

This course is an online primer on reporting basics, covering business, sports, cops & courts, local government, education and basic news writing topics.
