Interested in working for newspapers?

Michigan Press Association can help you get connected with a career in newspapering.
The Careers in Newspaper Web site lists many different career options. There are a wide variety of careers in almost any field you can think of and some that you may have not even considered. Look over the list and decide where you fit in. Then post your résumé in our résumé bank and check out the Free Member Exchange to make contacts directly.

The Free Member Exchange is a weekly publication of the Michigan Press Association. It is the listing of Help Wanted, Services Wanted, Opportunity Wanted, For Sale and similar ads for our member newspapers. The Free Member Exchange is distributed to all our member newspapers each week with the Bulletin. The Bulletin and Free Member Exchange are distributed to publishers, editors, ad managers and other newspaper staff via hard copy or e-mail and both are posted for members to view on our web site.

The MPA Résumé Bank is a collection of résumés belonging to talented reporters, editors, photographers, and many other available people looking for work with Michigan Newspapers. Résumés can be submitted and browsed. Employers can print résumés and contact potential employees directly.

The MPA Internship Bank is a service where newspapers post their available internships. Those looking for an internship can browse through what's available and apply directly to the paper.

The Newspaper Careers Committee is a committee formed to promote all newspaper careers.
